Expected Employment Outcome Example
This course will provide more specialised knowledge and skills required of someone responsible for health and safety management systems in the workplace. Possible career outcomes are safety officer or coordinator, safety manager, or senior OHS management positions. The Diploma in OHS may assist graduates gain enrolment in postgraduate awards offered by universities.

- Applications for 2008 - Semester One must be made through the centralised TAFE Admissions system via SATAC (South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre) by the advertised date.
- Applicants can make one application for up to six course preferences.
- Applications for Places Available courses are made direct to the relevant campus and a separate application is required for each course an applicant wants to study.

Design and implementation of OH&S management systems; OH&S law; OH&S consultative process; hazard management; using monitoring equipment; emergency procedures; research and analysis of specific industry hazards; managing OH&S projects; and planning and implementing rehabilitation and return to work strategies. -
Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety
Monitoring OH&S management systems; OH&S database systems; OH&S participative arrangements; contemporary risk management; management of hazards; monitoring hazards associated with plant; and managing rehabilitation and return to work programs.
Minimum Entry Requirements

Any one of:- Satisfactory completion of SACE Stage 2 (or equivalent)
- Any Certificate II in same area
- Any Certificate III
- Satisfactory achievement in the TAFE SA Assessment of Basic Skills (TABS)

Qualification/Certification
Successful completion of this course provides you with Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety. Students who elect to only do a certain number of modules within this Qualification will receive a Statement of Attainment.
Fees
Charges vary between courses and subjects and are based on a rate per hour. Concessions may be available to holders of certain government concession cards, and in some circumstances fees may be paid by instalment. A brochure detailing the refund of fees policy is available at each campus. The standard TAFE SA fee for State Government-subsidised courses undertaken by students enrolled in two consecutive semesters is capped at $1980 in 2008. This fee cap does not apply to all courses.
Students are generally expected to purchase their own textbooks, personal equipment, uniforms and stationery.
