Expected Employment Outcome Example
Multimedia qualifications concentrate on the design and production of interface design for use in websites, DVD, CD-ROM, and mobile device authoring. Qualifications look at skills in creating film, television, video, 3D modelling and animation programs. Graduates from certificate and diploma courses in multimedia have opportunities to gain employment in creating websites, audiovisual presentations and interactive kiosks. Skills developed in graphic design, animation and authoring will lead to fulfilling careers within the multimedia industry including work with web developers and screen production companies. TAFE SA in its delivery of the qualifications place a strong emphasis on authoring and design skills and developing skills needed for effective content management.

Award Courses - SATAC application process
- Applications for 2008 - Semester One must be made through the centralised TAFE Admissions system via SATAC (South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre) by the advertised date.
- Applicants can make one application for up to six course preferences.
- Applications for Places Available courses are made direct to the relevant campus and a separate application is required for each course an applicant wants to study.

Course Notes
| This qualification is ideal for students who want to build design and computing skills and gain an undertsanding of the specialisations within the digital design area. Students will develop a portfolio which may be used for entry into further digital design qualifications. |

Certificate IV in Visual Media Design
Develops preparatory skills in 2D and 3D design, concept development, creative thinking, visualising, life drawing/perspective, computer software including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash and InDesign as employed in the Game Art, Multimedia, CGI and Graphic Design areas.

Award Courses - SATAC application process
Any one of:- Satisfactory completion of SACE Stage 2 (or equivalent)
- Any Certificate II in same area
- Any Certificate III
- Satisfactory achievement in the TAFE SA Assessment of Basic Skills (TABS)

Qualification/Certification
Successful completion of this course provides you with Certificate IV in Design. Students who elect to only do a certain number of modules within this Qualification will receive a Statement of Attainment.
Fees
Charges vary between courses and subjects and are based on a rate per hour. Concessions may be available to holders of certain government concession cards, and in some circumstances fees may be paid by instalment. A brochure detailing the refund of fees policy is available at each campus. The standard TAFE SA fee for State Government-subsidised courses undertaken by students enrolled in two consecutive semesters is capped at $1980 in 2008. This fee cap does not apply to all courses.
Students are generally expected to purchase their own textbooks, personal equipment, uniforms and stationery.
